Most of the time, I have a plan for what I do, especially when it comes to exercise.
But every week or two, I intentionally don't. I head out and just let my mind go. I'm always excited to discover where it takes me. This is when I'm most creative - when new ideas are born, I see challenges from a different perspective, I gain important insights, or solutions begin to take shape.
This only works for me when I go outside, though. Perhaps it's the "cathedral effect" or one of the many other benefits of being in nature. Regardless of the cause, I look forward to this time all week, when I truly tune out to tune in.
